OBS-1000 Series-On Board Emission Measurement System

    Real-time, real-world analytical emissions system designed  for on-board measurement and recording of raw exhaust gases and simultaneous collection of data on the driving environment. An OBS-1000 Series system continuously measures the CO, CO₂, HC, NOx*2 and A/F produced by a moving vehicle. In addition, the system calculates the weight of exhaust gas generated per unit of distance and the fuel consumption rate. A GPS receiver and a variety of other sensors provide position data and an overview of the driving environment in real time. A heated type of NDIR analyzer, MEXA-1170HNDIR, measures CO, CO₂ and HC concentration in the vehicle emission, without water extraction. A ZrO2-type analyzer, MEXA-720NOx, measures NOx concentration and air fuel ratio (AFR). Software in the data logger laptop makes calculations and shows data as it is collected via a graphical interface in addition to storing the system inputs for later analysis.
